The Digital Atlas of Ancient Life was originally built with support from the National Science Foundation associated with the PaleoNiches and Cretaceous World Thematic Collections Network specimen digitization projects. NSF funding for the project concluded in June 2020.
Work on the Digital Atlas project continues, primarily in the areas of content development for the open access Digital Encyclopedia of Ancient Life paleontology textbook and the Virtual Collection of 3D models of fossil specimens.
If you use the Digital Atlas resources, please consider supporting their continued development and maintenance with a donation to the Paleontological Research Institution, which is the parent organization for the Digital Atlas project.
